Favor Through Fulfillment of Promise

Scripture Foundation
“God had promised Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob that their descendants would inherit the land of Canaan.” (Genesis 12:7; 15:18–21)
“For it was the Lord himself who hardened their hearts to wage war against Israel, so that he might destroy them totally, exterminating them without mercy, as the Lord had commanded Moses.” (Joshua 11:20, NIV)
God’s Promise and My Journey
When I read Joshua 11:20, I see more than just Israel’s battle—I see my life. God’s promises to me have often felt bigger than my ability to fulfill them. There have been times I looked at my circumstances and thought, “I don’t have enough strength, experience, or resources to do what God has placed in my heart.”
Like Israel, I have felt smaller than the giants I faced—whether it was the battle with bipolar disorder, PTSD, anxiety, or seasons where the weight of waiting on God felt unbearable. And yet, just as He fought for Israel, I’ve seen God quietly fighting for me. He has been orchestrating victories behind the scenes, even when I thought I was losing ground.
Favor Is Not About Me—It’s About Him
Israel didn’t conquer Canaan because they were the strongest army. They conquered because God had spoken a promise. That truth anchors my story too.
There are dreams I carry, callings on my life, and even the healing of my heart that I know cannot come from my strength alone. I’ve had to learn that favor doesn’t mean the reality of my struggle disappears. It means God steps into the reality with His power, and His word guarantees the outcome.
His favor has met me in hospital rooms, in silent prayers through tears, in moments when my mind was restless, and in seasons where my heart longed for clarity. And every time, His promise has been louder than my pain.
My Certain Outcome
Looking back, I can see moments where I should have been crushed, but God’s favor lifted me. Where the enemy tried to break me, God was writing victory. Where my story could have ended, His promise carried me through.
I realize now: the outcome of my life was never uncertain. The moment God spoke His promise over me, it was already secured. I just needed to keep walking—even limping sometimes—toward the fulfillment He had already ordained.
A Word I Hold Close
I hear the Lord whisper over my journey:
